Gonzen Winery

Gonzen Winery

“Gonzen Winery – Wine enjoyment from passion”.

The landmark of the small count town of Sargans is its castle. Thousands of visitors make the pilgrimage to this prominent vantage point year after year, marvel at the unique panoramic view of the Rhine Valley, and finally gaze up at the mighty rock face of Sargans’ local mountain, the GONZEN.

At the foot of this mighty natural monolith lies idyllically the vineyard of the same name, which was founded in 1919 by the Gonzen AG iron mine (Gonzen Bergwerk).

We cultivate the vineyards in Sargans and Sax with great expertise and passion. The respectful treatment of nature is particularly close to our hearts. Our grapes are all hand picked. Thanks to our careful and innovative vinification and wine care, the Gonzen wines acquire their unique character.

Vineyard Trutmann

Vineyard Trutmann

“Winery Trutmann – Unique, especially for connoisseurs”.

Experience our wine with all your senses, in the secluded vineyard, with a view of our historic town on the Rhine. Our grapes ripen on steep slopes on the southern slope of the Hohenklingen, high above the valley of the Rhine, with its water shimmering in the sun. The gentle slopes, the calcareous gravel-sand-loam-nagelfluh soils enhance the aroma of our grapes, protected from cold north winds by extensive forests on the hilltops.

Old winemaker knowledge paired with good observation skills and the integration of new scientific findings are our trademark. The result is unique wines – the soul of our homeland in the glass.

Welcome – Your hosts Alexander Florian Trutmann

Winery Kindhauser – Berghof

Winery Kindhauser – Berghof

“REST – NATURE – EXPERIENCE”

Situated above Wiesendangen in an idyllic location, the Berghof, surrounded by vineyards and woodland, is a winery in its own right.

Built in 1923, has always been closely associated with viticulture, but managed as an agricultural enterprise. In the course of time, the cowshed became a party and festival room and the vineyard became the mainstay of the business. Since 2012, with the construction of the wine cellar, the Berghof is a real winery that independently produces and markets high quality wines. Our top priority is to work in a natural and sustainable ecological way.
